Get out on the water

Take out a sailboat or rowboat and enjoy the Mystic River. Boat rentals are free of charge for Williams-Mystic alumni.

Behind-the-scenes tour of the mayflower ii
11 am–12 pm, meet at the Visitor Reception Center
Join Shipwright Nathan Adams (F'03) for a behind-the-scenes tour the restoration of the Mayflower II!
LUNCH ON THE GREEN
11:30 am–1 pm Village Green (rain location: Boat Shed)
Join our Alumni Council as they host a picnic lunch! Bring your own food and beverage or purchase at the Galley. Share a yarn or two.
ROPEWALK TOUR AND ropemaking
12:30–1:30pm; meet at the Ropewalk
Bring your children to the Rope Walk for a guided tour and a chance to try your hands at making your own rope! Supervised and guided by Williams-Mystic alumni.

1:30–2:45 pm, Greenmanville Church
Hear the latest program news from Executive Director Tom Van Winkle. Then, enjoy a panel discussion with the newest members of our faculty, marine ecologist Tim Pusack and maritime historian Alicia Maggard.
3 pm, Middle Wharf
Gather a team of six before you arrive or join a team when you get here. Come ready to "Pull, pull, my fine hearts-alive!”

All are invited to bring kids three years old and older (younger children welcome if potty-trained) to the Children’s Museum after dinner for a special Planetarium Show and other fun!
Pickup is at the Howell & Campbell Classrooms (below the Planetarium) no later than 9 pm.

Sunday, September 23
Breakfast a la Field seminar
9–10 am, Carlton Marine Science Center
Relive those early, field-seminar mornings (at a much more humane hour) with a hostel-style breakfast! Offerings will include yogurt, fruit, and other such quick and easy breakfast staples.
Please register in advance at the registration table.
Messing around in boats
10 am–12 pm, Mystic Seaport Sailing Center (formerly Youth Training Building (YTB))
Put off leaving Mystic for a couple hours in the best way possible: By enjoying the Williams-Mystic boat fleet (now replete with numerous kayaks, single and tandem, as well as a stand-up paddleboard!) or spending some time in a classic Dyer Dhow.
Takes place rain or shine!
